It was several years ago that I first heard the idea that there are only two emotions -- love and fear. I have pondered this idea many times over the years and I can say that I feel I understand it now more deeply than ever.
Recently I was talking to a very wise young man, who said to me: fear is DEATH.
Well, that really struck me. Since I heard these words I have taken them to heart in a big way. I have realized that when I allow myself (my mind) to enter into a place of fear, including worry and doubt, it stops me from moving forward. However, when I choose to be in a place of love, trust and faith, I feel empowered to take my next steps! And I feel like my decision comes from my truest place.
Coming from a place of love and trust within ourselves may feel foreign to us. It is likely that this is not how we were raised, nor how our parents were raised. A few weeks ago I heard Louise Hay, renowned teacher and author interviewed and she said that for many years she has invited people to spend time each day, looking in the mirror and saying "I Love You" to themselves. She said that this has helped many people to change their lives.
When I first heard this idea I did not embrace it. I was not ready. I tried it a few times and honestly had trouble with it. But the other day I tried it again and I was comfortable with it. I think this is because I have been spending time getting comfortable with residing more in a place of love. And it feels great.
As teacher Matt Kahn says, self love may feel foreign to us, but it can eventually become familiar. It feels foreign because this feeling has not yet been recorded in our cells.
What a wonderful opportunity this is. I invite you to try it and see what you think! Please let me know how it goes!
I have been supported as I explore this idea of choosing love by using a Rose flower essence I made from beautiful Briar Roses that grow in my front garden. (See the pic at the top of this post.)
This flower essence is amazing because it allows me more quickly to notice what is true for me and allows me to connect more easily to a place of love for myself and for others. I feel blessed to share this elixir with you, that I call Uplift your Heart. I hope that it supports you in the best possible way on your journey towards love.
With so many blessings to you,
